Nueva Alcántara Club – so-named World’s Best Padel Club

Marbella. Famous for its golden Mediterranean beaches, endless golf courses, glamorous nightlife and as a top holiday destination. What is often missed is that it is also home to “The Best Padel Club In The World”, a title bestowed to the club by Padel Spain at the World Padel Awards in March 2024.

So, what is so special about this place?

NAC, as it’s known by those in the know is an ecosystem, a padel haven, where, when you walk through the door the premium edition padel is in evidence everywhere. 16 of the finest Mediterranean blue courts, the finest kit, spa, dining, gym, coaching, you name it, NAC has it. It is a place where you can get lost for hours, going from one activity to the next, constantly in awe of what you are surrounded by. The staff are spectacular, the food close to as good as it gets and the padel experience, well, it might not be far off the best in the world.

  • The majority of padel clubs which have survived the test of our selection committee have all got a few things in common: world-class padel courts in an incredible location, state of the art gyms, wellness offerings and, of course, an enviable food and drink menu. What they don’t all have is an Oxygen Spa and an in-house childcare centre.

What NAC does so well is that they outsource many of their offerings to local external providers. This ensures that the standard of delivery is always of the highest quality and allows them to offer a greater breadth of activity. The gym and wellness provision at the club is therefore run by The I/O which has its private members health club onsite. They offer a fully comprehensive gym, with both indoor and outdoor training areas, as well as one-to-one coaching and a number of other incredibly popular classes. These include: HIIT, “Bulletproof Abs”, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Pilates and Reset classes. Their team of instructors are always on hand to make sure that it is a positive and welcoming environment.

From a wellness perspective, the club also plays host to a very unique Oxygen Spa. The facility, which from the outside looks like a late 20th-century spaceship, uses incredibly advanced technology to increase the pressure inside the capsule whilst also increasing the concentration of oxygen, hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The benefits? Well, it has been shown to slow down ageing by motivating the body to eliminate toxins and increase the production of collagen and elastin. With tennis’ undisputed GOAT Novak Djokovic one such guest of the Oxygen Spa, it is proof that it’s rated by the best.

But if you really want to slow down ageing, what better way to do it than off load your kids for an afternoon? Whether this be to play a game of padel, visit the gym or catch up with friends over a cocktail, Happy Times Kids Club takes care of any or all of your problems!

  • NAC is unique in that it grabs you the moment you walk through the door. The breadth of facilities allow for each and every visitor to organise their day however they wish, and yet all still leave with the same feeling of fulfilment. The atmosphere that the club has built in their community is something truly special and is one that you will feel whether in person at the venue or just in conversation with someone who’s recently been. Such is the power of NAC.

  • To some discerning padel travellers, this is the deal-breaker when deciding whether to set foot on the court or not.

Thankfully, the F&B doesn’t disappoint. And that has everything to do with Souk, the in-house restaurant and bar. Souk is an unmissable stop on your tour of NAC, whether you're itching to get on the padel court or not. Everything from the abundant supply of drinks to their padel breakfast and the new addition of their sushi menu which has been curated with the utmost care and is certain to leave you wanting more. Whether there for a romantic dinner, post-match drink or for one of their very popular social events, then the atmosphere of the restaurant will always leave you as one happy customer.

  • Garden by Soul

  • It is not just the atmosphere which creates the welcoming and inclusive feel of the club, this is also down to the incredible front-of-house team led by Miguel Matia and his team, who manage the day-to-day operations so effortlessly. Matia's team ensures that everything runs smoothly and that you have all that you need to get the most out of your visit. The well-presented, good looking reception team are beautifully supported by the I/O and the padel coaching team.

  • Despite all of the other facilities on offer, it is NAC’s courts which undeniably take centre stage. The sea of blue when you walk in truly captures you and with 16 courts to choose from, we would argue that the padel buzz is greater here than anywhere in the world. As soon as you emerge from the inside members’ space, padel is all around you, balls flying left, right and centre making you want to get on court within minutes.

The club also has one stadium court which is front and centre when you walk in. It is a fantastic venue for exhibition matches and was also host to an A1 Padel Tour event earlier this year.

  • The coaching is run by NAC’s six-person strong in-house coaching team which is just about as good as you will find anywhere on the southern coast of Spain. If there has ever been a place to go on a padel bootcamp, you’d be hard pushed to find a better alternative than NAC’s. Book in a few hours of coaching a day, master the vibora, relax in the spa and eat the delicious food, what more could you want?

  • With the club’s proud reputation, NAC also has the benefit of attracting some of the world top players, tournaments and exhibition matches. Time your trip right and you might just be able to grab front-row seats to an A1 Padel Tour event or the Star Padel pro-am event featuring the likes of Eva Longoria, Marcos Alonso and Paquito Navarro.

And even if you haven't, NAC puts on countless social and competitive padel events which are always followed by a fantastic evening at Souk. Whether just starting your padel journey or already at the dizzy heights of greatness, these events provide the perfect way to meet other like-minded players and battle it out with a racket in hand – all in a premium members' setting.
